Documentation: WhatsApp
Updated September 7, 2026
WhatsApp connects via the official WhatsApp Business Platform: your number is confirmed with an SMS code, after which customer messages arrive in the shared inbox and replies go from the business number.
WhatsApp Business
What you need
- A number not linked to a personal WhatsApp: a spare SIM, landline or virtual number.
- Access to SMS or calls on that number — for the confirmation code.
- Ten minutes and owner or admin rights in Chatva.
Connection, step by step
- 1
Open Channels → WhatsApp
In the Chatva dashboard: Channels, then the WhatsApp card → “Connect”.
- 2
Enter the number in international format
E.g. +7 999 123-45-67. The number must not be linked to a personal WhatsApp — your personal account stays untouched.
- 3
Confirm the number with the code
An SMS with a code arrives on the number — enter it in the dashboard. If SMS fails, choose a call instead.
- 4
Test receiving
Write to the business number from another phone — the message appears in the inbox. Replies go from the business number.
Setup fields
| Field | Why |
|---|---|
| Provider | Meta Cloud API or an official WhatsApp Business provider |
| Number | The business number replies go from |
| Access token | If you connect your own Meta app — otherwise leave empty |
| Verify token | For the Meta webhook — Chatva shows it in the setup dialog |
Chatva is about inbound conversations and support, not bulk campaigns — so your number is not at risk of a spam ban.
A team on one number
The whole team works on a single business number: conversations are assigned to operators and departments, you see who replied and when, and the customer leaves a rating after closing. Managers' personal phones are no longer needed — the customer base belongs to the company.
