Widget setup
Updated September 7, 2026
The widget is configured in the dashboard with a live preview: every change shows exactly how it will look on the site. Let's go through all the settings by tab.
Appearance
- Avatar — company logo or operator photo: chosen with the “Who customers see” switch.
- Accent color — widget header and operator messages; a standard palette or a custom hex.
- Widget name — header text instead of “Chatva”, e.g. “Garage 22 Support”.
- Position and corners — button on the right or left, soft or round corners.
- Greeting — the first message the customer sees.
Detailed settings
- Background and button colors — separate from the accent: chat background, quick replies, the “typing” indicator and the send button.
- Font size S/M/L and widget theme: system, light or dark.
- The “Powered by Chatva” label — removable on the Business plan.
- Rating after closing — customers leave stars and an optional comment; ratings show up in analytics.
Autoresponder
The bot greets the customer first: it shows the greeting and quick replies. If the customer writes free text or asks for a human — the conversation goes to an operator.
- Quick replies — up to three buttons with ready answers: “How much?”, “Delivery”, “Working hours”.
- Offline message — the text shown when the whole team is offline.
- Human handoff — by trigger words (“human”, “operator”) or immediately, skipping the bot.
Behavior
- Auto-open — the widget opens itself after 10 seconds and greets the visitor.
- Contact collection — before the chat starts the widget asks for a name, phone or email; fields are selectable.
- Overnight collection — when everyone is offline, the bot asks for contact details so you can call back.
- Read receipts — the customer sees whether the manager has read their message.
Quick replies resolve 30–50% of common questions. Start with the three most frequent questions from your conversations.
